Oogkap voor OM System OM-1, model EP-18 (vervangende zoeker-oogkap)

Replacement eyecup EP-18 for the OM System OM-1 provides a comfortable interface between the photographer’s eye and the camera’s electronic viewfinder. Designed specifically to fit the OM-1, this eyecup improves eye positioning, helps block stray light and enables a steadier, clearer view when composing and reviewing images. The soft, shaped surface reduces fatigue during extended shooting sessions while maintaining full access to the viewfinder controls and display.

Advantages

The EP-18 eyecup enhances comfort and stability by creating a cushioned contact point that aligns the eye to the viewfinder optical axis. It reduces glare and peripheral light intrusion, which can improve perceived contrast and make framing easier in bright conditions. The eyecup is straightforward to attach and remove, offering a simple, secure fit that does not interfere with diopter adjustment or other viewfinder functions.

Suitable for

• Landscape and travel photographers who need improved viewfinder comfort during long shoots
• Street and documentary photographers requiring fast and stable eye placement
• Studio photographers who want to reduce reflections and stray light while composing
• Any OM System OM-1 user looking for a direct replacement or upgrade to the original eyecup

How to use

To install the eyecup, align it with the viewfinder frame on the OM System OM-1 and press gently until it clicks into place. Ensure that the eyecup seats evenly around the viewfinder opening and that diopter adjustment remains accessible. To remove, pull the eyecup away from the camera body with moderate force, taking care not to damage the viewfinder surround. Clean the eyecup with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary, avoiding solvents that could degrade the material.

Recommendations

Use the eyecup when shooting in bright ambient light or during long sessions to reduce eye fatigue and stray light. Inspect the eyecup periodically for wear; replace if the material becomes cracked or no longer fits securely. Avoid exposing the eyecup to extreme heat or strong chemicals to preserve its shape and attachment integrity.
