Surface mount box GIRA 5503910 for intercom systems is a metal housing in an anthracite finish designed for external wall installation of intercom modules. With outer dimensions of 319.5 × 106.5 × 25.4 mm, this surface-mounted enclosure accepts compatible intercom modules and mounting frames, providing a durable and stable mounting solution for both residential and commercial entrances. The metal alloy construction with lacquered anthracite surface offers corrosion resistance and a uniform appearance suitable for visible installations.

Advantages

The metal surface mount box delivers mechanical robustness and a consistent anthracite finish that integrates with modern exterior façades. Its dimensions are tailored to common intercom module layouts and compatible mounting frames, enabling straightforward installation and retrofit work. Because the housing can be mounted independently of the final wiring and module installation, it supports staged construction workflows and reduces on-site coordination.

How to use

Mount the surface box to a stable wall substrate using appropriate fasteners for the wall material and expected load. Position and fix the box level and plumb at the planned installation height, then route supply and signal cables through the designated entry points. After the building shell and wiring are in place, attach compatible mounting frames and intercom modules into the box following the module manufacturer’s instructions. Seal any gaps as required to maintain weather resistance where the installation is exposed to the elements.

Recommendations

For long-term performance, install the box on a solid, dry surface and use corrosion-resistant fasteners suited to the wall material. Protect cables with appropriate grommets or conduit where they enter the housing. When installing outdoors, verify that the chosen intercom modules and seals provide the necessary ingress protection for the intended location.
