Rack-frontpaneel Omnitronic Z-19 — 8× Speakon D-Type, 4× NL8, 2U

The Omnitronic Z-19 front panel is a 2U rack accessory designed for professional audio environments that need organised, accessible speaker connections. It accommodates eight D-Type Speakon connectors alongside four NL8 outputs, providing a compact and clear solution for routing signals between amplifiers, processors and loudspeakers in a standard 19" rack. The metal front plate integrates with rack systems used in live sound, fixed installations and AV setups where multiple high-current speaker terminations are required.

Advantages

The front panel offers a space-saving 2U format that consolidates multiple speaker connectors into a single accessible location, reducing cable clutter and simplifying stage or rack changes. Durable metal construction ensures reliable mechanical support and stable connections under repeated use. Compatible connector types (D-Type Speakon and NL8) make the panel suitable for high-current audio connections and common pro-audio speaker wiring schemes, enabling faster setup and maintenance.

How to use

Install the panel in a 19" rack space occupying 2U of vertical height and secure it to the rack rails using appropriate screws. Wire the rear of each Speakon and NL8 connector to the corresponding speaker outputs or amplifier channels following the manufacturer's wiring colour codes. Use labelled cables or marking strips to keep channel assignments clear. During operation, insert Speakon plugs or NL8-compatible connectors into the front sockets to establish reliable speaker connections; ensure connectors are fully seated and locked where applicable.

Recommendations

For safe and consistent performance, inspect connectors periodically for wear and maintain proper cable strain relief. Match cable gauge to the power and distance requirements of your speakers, and follow standard pro-audio wiring practices when combining NL8 pinouts or bi-amping systems.
