SATA-harde-schijfbehuizing Renkforce RF-4038897 2,5 inch USB 3.2 Gen 1 (MPN BS-U23YA)

The Renkforce RF-4038897 2.5" SATA hard drive enclosure converts a 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD into a portable external drive with USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity. The compact, lightweight housing accepts standard 2.5" drives and provides plug-and-play connection to laptops, desktops and other USB hosts. Designed for straightforward installation and data transfer, this enclosure is intended to offer a simple way to reuse an internal drive or add removable storage without opening a computer.

Advantages

The enclosure supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 data rates for faster transfers compared with legacy USB 2.0 connections and is backwards compatible with older USB standards. Its 2.5" format accommodates both SATA HDDs and SATA SSDs, making it versatile for different storage media. The tool-free or easy-install design (depending on the model assembly) and plug-and-play operation eliminate the need for additional drivers on common operating systems. The compact footprint ensures easy transport and reduces desk clutter.

Suitable for

• Backing up files from laptops and desktops
• Converting an internal 2.5" HDD or SSD to external storage
• Transferring large data sets between computers
• Expanding portable storage for travel or remote work

Key specifications

• Form factor: supports 2.5-inch SATA HDD and SATA SSD
• Interface to host: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (backward compatible with USB 2.0/3.0)
• Drive interface: SATA (for 2.5" drives)
• Power: USB bus-powered (no separate power adapter required for typical 2.5" drives)
• Material and dimensions: compact, lightweight enclosure suitable for portable use
• Installation: tool-free or simple snap/slide assembly for easy drive insertion

How to use

Open the enclosure according to the included assembly method, insert the 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD into the SATA connector, and secure the drive in place. Close the enclosure and connect it to a computer using the supplied USB cable. The host system should detect the drive automatically; if the drive is new it may require formatting in the operating system's disk management utility. Safely eject the drive from the operating system before disconnecting the USB cable to avoid data loss.

Recommendations

Use a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port on the host device to achieve optimal transfer speeds, and avoid heavy physical shocks to the enclosure while a mechanical HDD is in operation. For long-term backup, consider using a solid-state drive (SSD) for greater resilience to movement and faster performance. Keep the enclosure ventilated during extended transfers to help maintain stable temperatures.
