HDD/SSD-behuizing Unitek Y-3035 — 2,5/3,5 inch SATA, USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB Type-B), 6 Gbit/s, zwart, AC-adapter

The UNITEK Y-3035 is an HDD/SSD enclosure designed to house 2.5" and 3.5" Serial ATA drives. It supports Serial ATA, Serial ATA II and Serial ATA III interfaces with data transfer rates up to 6 Gbit/s, and connects to a host system via a USB Type-B port using USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1) speeds. The enclosure comes in a black finish and provides a compact, external solution for adding or accessing SATA drives without installing them inside a computer.

Advantages

The enclosure supports both 2.5" and 3.5" drives, offering flexibility for laptop and desktop HDDs or SSDs. With SATA I/II/III compatibility and up to 6 Gbit/s throughput, it accommodates a range of drive speeds while maintaining backwards compatibility. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 connection enables faster data transfer compared with USB 2.0, and the USB Type-B connector ensures a stable physical interface. The black housing provides a discreet appearance suitable for home or office setups.

Suitable for

• External backup and file storage for desktops and laptops
• Data recovery from 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives
• Temporary expansion of storage capacity without internal installation
• Testing or cloning drives during maintenance or upgrades

How to use

Open the enclosure according to the included instructions, insert a compatible 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drive and secure it in place. Connect the enclosure to a computer using a USB cable that matches the USB Type-B connector on the device. The operating system should detect the drive as an external storage device; if necessary, initialize or format the drive using system disk management tools before first use. After use, safely eject the drive from the operating system before disconnecting the USB cable to avoid data corruption.

Recommendations

Use the enclosure on a stable, flat surface and avoid exposing the drive to strong magnetic fields, extreme temperatures, or moisture. For optimal performance, connect to a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port on the host device and use high-quality USB cables. When handling 3.5" desktop drives, ensure the enclosure and any required external power supply (if applicable) meet the drive's power requirements.
