Satelliet-multischakelaar Kathrein EXR 25516 5 ingangen 16 uitgangen

The Kathrein EXR 25516 satellite multiswitch provides 5 inputs and 16 outputs to distribute four satellite polarisation/positioning levels plus terrestrial signals to multiple receivers. It delivers 25 dB decoupling for horizontal and vertical signals and an output level up to 109 dBµV. The compact housing (239 mm × 43 mm × 148 mm) is intended for indoor installation and supports cascaded system expansion.

Advantages

The multiswitch allows each receiver to use a single coaxial line (two lines for twin receivers) while enabling independent selection of horizontal/vertical and low/high bands from any receiver via 14/18 V and 0/22 kHz signalling. An integrated amplifier with preemphasis compensates cable attenuation to minimise connection losses in the satellite range. High decoupling between outputs reduces interference, and the terrestrial path remains available even when satellite receivers are switched off. The device supports through-connection expansion by 16 connections per device and up to six devices can be cascaded. A power-saving function switches off LNB voltage at the end multi-switch when no receiver activity is detected.

Suitable for

• Apartment buildings and multi-dwelling installations distributing satellite and terrestrial TV
• Small commercial sites requiring multiple tuner connections
• Systems that need cascaded expansion up to six multiswitches

How to use

Install the multiswitch indoors and connect the satellite dish and terrestrial antenna to the designated inputs. Run one coaxial cable from each receiver output; twin receivers require two lines. The receivers control polarisation and band switching by sending 14/18 V and 0/22 kHz signals over the coax. For larger systems, connect additional EXR 25516 units in cascade using the through-connections, observing the maximum of six cascaded devices and expanding by 16 connections per device. Ensure correct polarity and secure RF connections to avoid signal loss.

Recommendations

Use quality coaxial cable and tighten F-type connectors to specifications. Keep cable runs as short as practical and apply preemphasis settings where needed to compensate long-run attenuation. Place the multiswitch in a ventilated indoor location away from moisture. For complex installations or troubleshooting, consult a qualified installer.
