Schilderstape 3M 3M-201E 24 mm x 50 m, allround schilderstape

Masking tape 3M 3M-201E 24 mm x 50 m is a general-purpose painter's tape designed for masking, surface protection and temporary bundling. The crepe-paper backing and pressure-sensitive adhesive are formulated to adhere to painted and non-painted substrates while allowing clean removal and minimizing residue. The narrow 24 mm width is suitable for trim work, edging and detail painting where precise control of paint lines is required.

Advantages

This painter's tape offers reliable adhesion with easy peelability that helps create sharp paint lines without lifting existing coatings. The tape resists tearing during application yet can be removed cleanly from most surfaces within the recommended time window. Its paper construction conforms moderately well to contours and edges, making it practical for both straight and slightly curved masking tasks.

How to use

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust or oils before applying the tape. Unroll the required length and press the tape firmly along the edge or area to be masked, smoothing out wrinkles and ensuring full contact with the substrate. For straight lines use a steady hand or a guide; for curves conform the tape gradually to the contour. After painting or protection period, remove the tape at a low angle and pull back slowly to reduce the risk of lifting paint. Test on a small area if there is concern about adhesion or surface sensitivity.

Recommendations

For best results, apply at moderate temperatures and remove the tape within the timeframe recommended for general-purpose painter's tapes to avoid adhesive transfer. Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure if long-term residue-free removal is required. Store the roll in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
