Seagate Exos X24 interne harde schijf 12 TB 7200 rpm 512 MB 3,5 inch Serial ATA III

Seagate Exos X24 internal 3.5" HDD with 12 TB capacity, 7200 RPM spindle speed and 512 MB cache provides high-capacity storage for servers, NAS and desktop systems that accept SATA III drives. The drive is designed for continuous-read, enterprise-class workloads and offers rack-space efficiency, standard SATA connectivity and compatibility with common storage enclosures. Seagate Exos X24 targets deployments that require sustained throughput, large volume storage and reliable operation in multi-drive environments.

Advantages

The drive combines a large 12 TB capacity with a 512 MB buffer and 7200 RPM performance to deliver improved access times and sustained transfer rates up to industry-typical 6 Gbit/s SATA III link speeds. Enterprise-grade reliability metrics, including a high workload rating and long mean time between failures, support deployment in demanding environments. Power management features allow configurable optimization between performance and energy consumption, while built-in secure-erase capabilities simplify secure retirement and data sanitisation.

How to use

Install the Seagate Exos X24 into a compatible 3.5" drive bay or rack tray and connect to a SATA III port on the host controller using a standard SATA data cable and appropriate power connector from the power supply. Initialise, partition and format the drive using the operating system or storage controller utilities according to the intended file system and RAID configuration. For multi-drive arrays, follow the enclosure or server vendor instructions for mounting, ventilation and thermal management to ensure reliable operation under continuous workloads.

Recommendations

For optimal lifetime and performance in enterprise or NAS environments, use the drive in systems with adequate cooling and stable power. Configure power management features to balance performance and energy use according to workload. Use Seagate tools or storage management software to monitor drive health and perform secure erase when decommissioning.
