ShiverPeaks netwerkkabel S/CONN 75900-500S grijs 500m Cat6 S/FTP

The ShiverPeaks Networking Cable S/CONN 75900-500S Grey 500m Cat6 S/FTP is a 500-metre Cat6 network cable engineered for structured cabling installations that require robust shielding and consistent data throughput. Constructed with S/FTP (overall braid with individually foil-shielded pairs) the cable reduces electromagnetic interference and crosstalk to support reliable high-speed connections in mixed residential and commercial environments. The grey jacket provides a neutral appearance suitable for visible runs, server rooms, or hidden conduit installations.

Advantages

The S/FTP design combines an overall braided shield with foil wrapping on each twisted pair, improving immunity to external noise sources and minimizing pair-to-pair interference. As a Cat6 cable rated for 500 metres on a single reel, it is convenient for longer horizontal runs and multi-station deployments. The cable’s mechanical construction and jacket material deliver durability for installation in cable trays, conduits, and behind wall surfaces while maintaining consistent signal integrity for applications up to Cat6 performance levels.

Suitable for

• Structured Ethernet cabling for offices and homes
• Wiring of server rooms, data closets, and network cabinets
• Connections requiring high immunity to electromagnetic interference (industrial and mixed environments)
• Installations needing long continuous cable runs without frequent splices

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid with foil-shielded pairs)
• Length: 500 m on a single reel
• Colour: Grey jacket
• Conductor arrangement: Twisted pairs
• Typical use: Ethernet data transmission, 1 Gbps and compatible systems within Cat6 limits

How to use

Unspool the cable from the reel and route it through cable trays, conduits, or along walls as required by the installation plan. Terminate each pair with compatible Cat6 RJ45 connectors or keystone jacks and follow standard wiring schemes (T568A/T568B) for consistent performance. When cutting and preparing the shielded cable, maintain the integrity of the overall braid and pair shields until termination to preserve shielding effectiveness. Use appropriate tools for shielded cable termination, including a shielded connector and proper grounding of the overall braid at the patch-panel or outlet end if required by the installation.

Recommendations

Locate cable paths away from high-voltage power lines and sources of strong electromagnetic interference where possible. For optimal performance, observe bend radius recommendations during routing and avoid excessive pulling tension. Ground the overall braid at one point in compliance with local electrical and installation standards to ensure effective shielding.
