Short throw-projector LG HU715QW 3700 ANSI lumen DLP UHD 4K

The LG HU715QW short throw projector provides UHD 4K resolution and 3700 ANSI lumens brightness in a compact design. Using laser light source technology with a long lifespan, DLP projection, and support for HDR10 and HLG, it is designed for high-detail home cinema projection up to very large screen sizes. The projector includes webOS for streaming apps and multiple wired connections for external devices.

Advantages

The projector delivers sharp 4K UHD detail with 8.3 megapixel rendering and supports vivid color expression using 3-channel laser technology that separates RGB primaries for improved color accuracy and up to 30% brighter color compared with the previous generation. A 0.19 short throw ratio enables a very large image from a short distance, and a 2M:1 contrast ratio plus adaptive contrast and iris mode help maintain deep blacks and highlight detail. The exterior uses Kvadrat Re-wool textile for a premium, environmentally considerate finish.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

When it may not be suitable

This short throw laser projector is optimized for home cinema and bright, color-accurate images; it may be less appropriate for users who need ultra-portable or battery-powered projectors. The unit is relatively heavy and sized for placement or mounting rather than frequent transport.

How to use

Place the projector at the recommended short-throw distance from the screen or wall to achieve the desired image size and connect a power source. Use HDMI or USB inputs to connect media players, set up the built-in webOS via a Wi‑Fi network for streaming apps, then adjust focus and 4/9/15 point warping to correct geometry. Select iris mode and enable adaptive contrast as needed to balance brightness and black detail for your viewing environment.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

For best results, install the projector on a stable surface or ceiling mount at the correct short-throw distance, calibrate geometry with the 4/9/15 point warping, and use iris and adaptive contrast settings to suit your room lighting. Regularly update webOS apps and maintain proper ventilation around the unit.
