Sky-Watcher 2 inch Crayford oculairhouder voor 200mm Newton-telescoop

For observers and astrophotographers using a 200mm (8-inch) Newtonian reflector, the Sky-Watcher 2" Crayford focuser offers a direct upgrade or replacement. Its Crayford design uses a roller bearing system to eliminate backlash, while the 10:1 fine-focus knob allows precise adjustment even at high magnification. The 2-inch drawtube accepts both 2" eyepieces and, with the included 1.25" adapter, standard 1.25" accessories. A millimeter scale on the non-rotating drawtube makes it easy to repeat focus positions, and the tension adjustment with locking screw holds the drawtube firmly in place. The curved mounting base matches the tube of a 200mm Newtonian for a straightforward installation.

Key specifications

Why choose it

The Crayford mechanism provides smooth, backlash-free movement, and the 10:1 fine focus makes critical focusing easier. The dual-format eyepiece holder adds flexibility, while the non-rotating drawtube keeps heavy accessories aligned.

Ideal use cases

• Upgrading the stock focuser on a 200mm Newtonian for visual observing
• Astrophotography where precise, repeatable focus is essential
• Replacing a worn or damaged focuser with a direct-fit component

Good to know

The focuser is designed for 200mm Newtonian reflectors with a matching curved base. Installation typically requires basic mechanical skills and may involve drilling new mounting holes if the existing hole pattern differs.
