Takenschaar Makita DUP180Z 18V draadloze accu-takenschaar licht compact ontwerp

Makita DUP180Z 18V cordless battery pruning shears are a lightweight, compact tool designed for one-handed pruning of branches and shrubs. The body-only unit accepts an 18V battery (sold separately) and combines a slim handle with a balanced chassis to reduce user fatigue during extended tasks. The shears provide efficient cutting performance for routine garden maintenance, professional landscaping and vineyard work where portability and ease of use are important.

Advantages

The tool’s compact design and reduced weight improve maneuverability in confined spaces and allow for comfortable one-handed operation. Its electric drive delivers consistent cutting force without the vibration typical of petrol tools, while the ergonomic handle reduces strain on the wrist. Low-maintenance construction eliminates the need for frequent adjustments common with manual shears, and the cordless format removes the limitations of cable length and access to mains power.

Suitable for

• Pruning small to medium branches in home gardens
• Routine hedge and shrub maintenance
• Vineyard pruning and training of grapevines
• Professional landscaping tasks requiring portability

Key specifications

• Design: compact, lightweight body for one-handed use
• Cutting mechanism: motor-driven bypass-style blades for clean cuts
• Intended use: pruning branches and shrubs

How to use

Attach a compatible 18V battery according to the battery manufacturer’s instructions and check that the blade and safety mechanisms are free from debris. Hold the pruner with a firm, one-handed grip and position the blades around the target branch. Depress the trigger to engage the cutting action and complete the cut in a single, steady motion. After use, switch off and remove the battery before cleaning or storing the tool. Inspect the cutting blades periodically and sharpen or replace them if cuts become uneven.

Recommendations

Use the Makita DUP180Z with suitable protective equipment such as gloves and eye protection. Choose the correct battery capacity for the expected workload to maintain consistent cutting performance. Avoid forcing oversized branches through the blades; make multiple smaller cuts where necessary to protect both the tool and plant structure. Store the tool in a dry place and follow routine blade care to maintain cutting quality and extend service life.
