Tegenlichtkap OLYMPUS LH-66D voor M1240Pro (model V335070BW000) – frontlens-accessoire

The OLYMPUS LH-66D lens hood is a front-mounted accessory designed for the M1240Pro lens. It shades the lens from stray light, reducing lens flare and helping maintain image contrast when shooting in bright or backlit conditions. The hood is compatible with photography and video workflows where controlling unwanted light improves overall image quality.

Advantages

The lens hood provides targeted protection against side and rear stray light without altering lens performance. By preventing direct light from hitting the front element, it reduces flare and ghosting and helps preserve color fidelity and contrast. The hood also offers moderate physical protection for the lens front against accidental bumps and light precipitation while maintaining a compact profile that does not interfere with normal operation.

Suitable for

• Outdoor photography in bright sunlight
• Backlit portrait and landscape shooting
• Video recording where lens flare must be minimized
• Situations requiring extra front-element protection

Key specifications

• Type: Front-mounted lens hood
• Compatibility: Designed for use with the M1240Pro lens
• Function: Shades front element to reduce flare and improve contrast
• Material: Rigid plastic construction (matte interior finish)
• Mounting: Bayonet or screw-fit style matching lens front
• Profile: Compact, low-profile design to avoid vignetting on intended lens

How to use

Align the hood with the lens front and attach it according to the hood and lens mating method—typically a bayonet twist or screw-in. Ensure the hood is securely fastened and oriented correctly so the petal or circular profile faces forward. For storage or when using wide-angle adapters that may vignette, remove the hood and store it safely. Regularly check for dirt or debris on the hood interior and clean with a soft cloth to avoid transferring particles to the lens.

Recommendations

Use the hood whenever shooting in conditions with strong side or backlighting to reduce flare and maintain contrast. Remove the hood when using filters or accessories that require direct access to the lens front or when it causes vignetting with ultra-wide focal lengths.
