Telegärtner CAT.6a S-FTP 2,5m netwerkkabel grijs

The Telegärtner CAT.6a S-FTP 2.5m networking cable Grey is a high-performance copper patch cable designed for reliable Ethernet connections in home, office, and data center environments. With a 2.5 meter length and S-FTP (shielded foil with braided drain) construction, the cable supports high-speed data transmission while reducing electromagnetic interference. Both ends are fitted with RJ-45 plugs compatible with standard Ethernet ports, providing a neutral grey appearance suitable for visible or concealed installations.

Advantages

The cable's CAT.6a category supports enhanced bandwidth and performance compared to lower-category cables, enabling stable connections at high data rates. The S-FTP shielding provides improved protection against external noise and crosstalk, which helps maintain signal integrity over the full 2.5 m length. Standard RJ-45 connectors ensure broad compatibility with network switches, routers, patch panels, and network interface cards.

Suitable for

• Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections in short to medium-length runs
• Desk-to-switch patching in offices and co-working spaces
• Home network connections for gaming consoles, smart TVs, and NAS devices
• Equipment interconnects in server rooms where shielding is required

Key specifications

• Category: CAT.6a (augmented Category 6)
• Shielding: S-FTP (overall foil with individual pair braid/drain)
• Connector type: RJ-45 on both ends
• Length: 2.5 meters
• Color: Grey
• Conductor: stranded copper (flexible for patching)
• Rated bandwidth: up to 500 MHz (typical for CAT.6a)

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the Ethernet port of your computer, switch, router, or other network device and plug the other end into the corresponding port. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until you hear a click to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and sharp edges; maintain a gentle bend radius near connectors. For installations near potential sources of electromagnetic interference, orient the cable to maximize distance from noisy devices and consider using shielded equipment or grounded patch panels when available.

Recommendations

Use the cable for short to medium-length Ethernet runs where reliable, shielded connections are required. Avoid kinking or heavy compression, and verify connector seating for optimal performance. When integrating into structured cabling, match the cable shielding approach (S-FTP) with compatible grounded outlets and panels to realize the full benefit of the shielding.
