Unmanaged Ethernet-switch Televes SWUM-1000-5 — 5x 10/100/1000 Mbps-poorten

The Televes SWUM-1000-5 unmanaged Ethernet switch offers five 10/100/1000 Mbps ports in a compact metal housing for straightforward network expansion. Designed as a plug-and-play device, it requires no configuration and provides reliable wired connectivity for small offices, homes and network closets. The switch supports automatic speed negotiation and link/activity LEDs for easy status monitoring and can be used to connect PCs, NAS devices, IP cameras and routers to increase available Ethernet ports and improve local network throughput.

Advantages

The metal enclosure provides mechanical protection and passive heat dissipation for continuous operation in confined spaces. Auto-negotiation and auto-MDI/MDIX simplify cabling and ensure compatibility with a wide range of Ethernet devices. The unmanaged design eliminates the need for configuration or management software, allowing immediate deployment. Link/activity indicators on each port enable quick visual checks of connectivity and traffic activity.

Suitable for

• Expanding wired port count in small offices and home networks
• Connecting NAS devices and desktop PCs for faster local transfers
• Adding Ethernet ports for IP cameras and other networked sensors
• Providing additional ports near routers or network closets

Key specifications

• Number of ports: 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps)
• Operation mode: unmanaged, plug-and-play
• Connector type: RJ45
• Auto features: auto-negotiation, auto-MDI/MDIX
• Indicators: per-port link/activity LEDs
• Chassis: metal housing for durability and passive cooling
• Power: external power adapter (included)

How to use

Place the switch on a stable surface near your router or network junction. Connect the provided power adapter to the switch and a mains outlet. Use CAT5e or higher Ethernet cables to connect devices to the RJ45 ports; the switch will automatically detect link speed and configure each port. Observe the LEDs to verify link and activity status. No additional setup or software is required—connected devices obtain network access through existing DHCP settings or static assignments on your network.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use quality CAT5e/CAT6 cables and avoid placing the metal-housed switch in areas with extreme temperatures or excessive moisture. When connecting multiple high-bandwidth devices (NAS, PCs, IP cameras), position the switch close to the router or use uplink to a higher-capacity switch to minimize bottlenecks.
