Unmanaged switch D-Link DGS-1008MP 8-poorts desktop Gigabit Max PoE-switch

The D-Link DGS-1008MP is an unmanaged 8-port desktop Gigabit PoE switch that provides Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) to IEEE 802.3af/at devices. Each of the eight 10/100/1000BASE-T ports can supply up to 30 W, with a total PoE power budget of 140 W, allowing you to power access points, IP phones and surveillance cameras directly over Ethernet without separate power adapters.

Advantages

This compact Gigabit switch offers plug-and-play installation with no configuration required, Auto MDI/MDI-X and Auto-Negotiation for simple connectivity, and fanless design for silent operation. Wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching help maximise network throughput and reduce transmission of bad packets. Energy-saving features include D-Link Green 3.0 Technology and IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, which monitor link status, detect cable length and reduce power consumption when possible.

Suitable for

• Small office or branch networks needing centralized PoE power
• Powering wireless access points and IP phones
• Connecting and powering IP video surveillance cameras
• Environments requiring silent, fanless switches (e.g., offices, retail)

Key specifications

• Ports: 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet)
• PoE standard: IEEE 802.3af/at (PoE+), up to 30 W per port
• Total PoE budget: 140 W
• Switching capacity: 16 Gbit/s
• MAC address table: 8,000 entries
• Standards: IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab, 802.3x, 802.3at, 802.3az
• Type: Unmanaged, desktop, fanless
• Colour/weight: Black; weight ~1.84 kg

How to use

Place the DGS-1008MP on a stable desktop surface and connect it to your network using standard Ethernet cables. Connect PoE-capable devices to any of the eight Gigabit ports; the switch will automatically supply PoE power up to the supported limit without additional setup. The Auto-Negotiation and Auto MDI/MDI-X functions automatically detect and configure link speed and crossover requirements for connected devices.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, ensure the combined power draw of all connected PoE devices does not exceed the 140 W total budget. Use Cat5e or higher-rated Ethernet cables for Gigabit performance and shorter cable runs where possible to optimise energy efficiency.
