Eaton 5E Gen2 550 is a line-interactive UPS designed to provide efficient and affordable power protection for home and small-office equipment. With a compact tower design and four AC outlets, it supplies 0.55 kVA (300 W) of output power and uses double-boost Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to stabilise under- and overvoltage conditions, preserving battery capacity during outages. The unit supports auto-restart after full discharge and offers fanless operation up to 1200 VA for quiet use in residential environments.

Advantages

The Eaton 5E Gen2 550 offers automatic voltage regulation to reduce battery use during mains fluctuations, permanent battery recharge even when the unit is switched off, cold-start capability without mains, and automatic battery testing with a replacement alarm. It comes in a compact, black tower housing that is easy to integrate into home or office setups and is certified by an external agency (TUV) to meet international safety standards.

The UPS will regulate voltage automatically and take over on battery if mains power fails.

Recommendations

To maximise battery life, avoid prolonged deep discharges, periodically run the automatic battery test, and replace the battery when the UPS issues a replacement alarm. Ensure the unit has adequate ventilation and keep it away from heat sources and moisture.
