Vijzel & stamper Westmark graniet grijs — graniet, Ø 13 cm, 131×131 mm

Westmark Granit mortar and pestle in grey is made from solid granite with a diameter of 13 cm and outer dimensions 131×131 mm. Designed for grinding and crushing spices, herbs, seeds and nuts, it provides a sturdy, non-reactive surface for food preparation. Supplied as a single unit, this granite mortar and pestle is suitable for home cooking and small-scale culinary tasks where a durable, heavy base and firm grinding surface are required.

Advantages

The granite construction offers weight and stability to keep the mortar in place during use and a non-reactive, food-safe surface that does not absorb flavors or odors. The interior of the mortar and the underside of the pestle feature grooved textures that improve grip on ingredients and enhance aroma release when crushing and grinding. Its compact diameter and solid form make it easy to handle, store and clean after use.

Suitable for

• Grinding whole spices such as peppercorns, coriander and cumin
• Crushing fresh herbs to release essential oils for marinades and dressings
• Preparing small batches of pastes, pesto and spice blends
• Crushing seeds and nuts for garnishes or baking

Key specifications

• Material: natural granite
• Color: grey
• Diameter: 13 cm
• Outer dimensions: 131 × 131 mm
• Package contents: mortar and pestle (single unit)

How to use

Place the mortar on a stable, flat surface. Add the ingredients to the mortar in small amounts to ensure even crushing. Use the pestle with a steady downward and circular motion to grind or crush items until the desired texture is reached. For harder ingredients, apply firm pressure and repeat until coarse or fine consistency is achieved. After use, remove residues and rinse the mortar and pestle under warm water; avoid soaking for long periods.

Recommendations

To preserve the granite surface and prevent transfer of strong flavors between uses, rinse and air-dry the mortar and pestle after each use. For stubborn residues, use a soft brush and warm water without detergents. Avoid putting the granite mortar in a dishwasher and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes.
