The Yale YKB/365/DB1 is a compact wall-mounted key safe with a mechanical combination lock designed for secure storage and controlled access to keys. The unit fixes to a vertical surface and provides coded access without the need for a physical key, offering a practical solution for managing spare keys and simplifying authorised entry for property managers, contractors, caretakers and households requiring shared access.

Advantages

The mechanical combination mechanism eliminates the need for batteries or electrical power, reducing maintenance and ensuring reliable operation in any environment. Its sturdy construction and secure internal compartment protect keys from unauthorised removal while the compact footprint allows discreet wall mounting close to entry points. The coded access system enables controlled sharing of entry information and avoids duplication of conventional keys.

• Property managers and lettings where multiple agents require timed access
• Contractors and maintenance personnel needing temporary entry to worksites
• Caregivers and families sharing access to a residence
• Holiday rental hosts providing secure key exchange for guests
• Emergency access situations where an authorised person must retrieve a spare key

How to use

Fix the key safe to a suitable vertical surface using appropriate screws and wall plugs for the substrate. Set a personalised combination following the manufacturer’s instructions and store the required keys inside the internal compartment. Periodically check fixings and the condition of the housing to ensure continued reliability.

Recommendations

Choose a discreet but accessible mounting location near the entry point, out of direct view where possible, and share the combination only with trusted individuals. Regularly inspect the mechanical combination for smooth operation and avoid exposing the unit to prolonged extreme weather without additional shelter. Change the combination when access permissions change or after any security incident.
