Wandplaat / schakelaarafdekking Merten 296519, wit, thermoplastisch, 1 stuk

Merten 296519 is a white wall plate made of thermoplastic designed to cover a single standard switch opening. Supplied as one piece, the cover provides a uniform finish for switch and socket installations in residential and commercial interiors. The smooth surface is easy to clean and resistant to everyday wear, offering a discreet visual continuation of the wall while protecting the mounting box and internal components from dust and contact.

Advantages

The thermoplastic material delivers impact resistance and dimensional stability at room temperatures, ensuring the plate retains its shape and appearance over time. Its white color provides neutral compatibility with a wide range of interior palettes and lighting conditions. The one-piece construction simplifies handling during installation and replacement, while the smooth finish reduces dirt buildup and facilitates maintenance.

Suitable for

• Covering single standard light switches
• Replacing damaged or discolored switch covers
• Use in homes, offices, retail and hospitality settings
• Coordination with white switch and socket fittings

• Color: white
• Material: thermoplastic
• Configuration: single gang / single switch opening
• Finish: smooth, easy-clean surface
• Package quantity: 1 piece

How to use

Turn off power to the circuit at the fusebox before beginning. Remove the existing cover by unscrewing the fixing screw(s) and gently pulling the plate away from the wall. Align the Merten wall plate over the switch opening so the screw hole lines up with the mounting bracket, then secure it with the original fixing screw(s) without over-tightening. Restore power and check switch operation. For best results, inspect the mounting box and switch for correct alignment prior to fitting.

Recommendations

For safe installation, always cut power at the consumer unit and verify the circuit is de-energized. Use compatible screws and existing switch hardware to maintain proper grounding and mechanical stability. Clean the surface with a soft cloth and mild detergent; avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that can damage the thermoplastic finish.
