Windscherm Rode WS9-G voor microfoons – windscherm, licht ontwerp

The WS9-G is a deluxe windshield designed for RØDE on-camera microphones such as the VideoMicro, VideoMic Me, VideoMic Me-L and VideoMic Me-C. Constructed from open-cell foam covered with acoustically transparent synthetic fur, it reduces wind noise and preserves clarity when recording outdoors or in breezy locations.

Advantages

The windshield provides effective wind protection while remaining lightweight and easy to mount. Its synthetic fur covering is acoustically transparent to minimise impact on the microphone’s sound, and the open-cell foam core further reduces low-frequency wind rumble. The design allows quick fitting and removal for field use.

Suitable for

• Outdoor video recording with RØDE VideoMicro
• Mobile interviews and ENG with VideoMic Me/Me-L/Me-C
• Location sound and field recording in windy conditions

How to use

Remove any packaging and slide the WS9-G over the microphone capsule until it fits snugly around the body. Ensure the fur covers the capsule opening fully to block direct wind. For removal, pull the windshield off gently; no tools are required. Check the fit before recording to confirm the windshield is secure and not obstructing the microphone grille.

Recommendations

Use the WS9-G in outdoor and breezy environments to reduce wind noise; combine with a shock mount or vibration isolation when handling noise is a concern. Store dry and brush the fur lightly after use to maintain acoustic transparency.
