Wireless Access Point Teltonika TAP400 Wi‑Fi 6, 2,4/5 GHz, 3000 Mbit/s, PoE, 1x LAN, 3 antennes, wit

The Teltonika TAP400 is a Wi‑Fi 6 access point for small and medium businesses that require fast, efficient wireless coverage with simple centralized management. It operates on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with a combined maximum throughput of 3000 Mbit/s, includes a dedicated 2.5 GbE-capable LAN uplink and supports Power over Ethernet for single-cable deployment. TAP400 supports advanced security standards and can be remotely configured and monitored via Teltonika RMS, enabling seamless network expansion with Fast Roaming and Mesh.

Advantages

TAP400 delivers high aggregate throughput across dual bands and benefits from Wi‑Fi 6 technologies to serve multiple users simultaneously. A 2.5 GbE-capable uplink reduces wired bottlenecks, while PoE simplifies installation. Built‑in support for Fast Roaming and Mesh ensures continuous connectivity across larger areas, and remote management via Teltonika RMS centralizes configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Suitable for

• Small offices and coworking spaces
• Retail stores and point-of-sale areas
• Cafés, hotels and public hotspots
• Branch offices requiring centralized RMS management

When it may not be suitable

The TAP400 is designed for SMB environments and may not meet requirements of very large enterprises or dense stadium-scale deployments that need dozens of radios and enterprise-class multi-controller systems. It also provides a single LAN port, so networks requiring multiple wired uplinks or extensive local switching should plan for additional network equipment.

Key specifications

• Wireless bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
• Maximum combined data rate: 3000 Mbit/s (576 Mbit/s on 2.4 GHz, 2402 Mbit/s on 5 GHz)
• Wi‑Fi standard: IEEE 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6) with roaming and mesh support
• Security: WPA2, WPA3, PEAP, OWE, EAP‑TLS, AES‑CCMP, TKIP
• Ethernet: 1 × LAN port with Gigabit/2.5 GbE capability
• Power: Power over Ethernet (PoE) support
• Antennas: 3 internal antennas
• Device colour: White; Weight: 0.285 kg

How to use

Mount the TAP400 in a central location for optimal coverage and connect it to your network switch or router using the LAN port. If using PoE, connect a PoE-capable switch or injector to power the device and avoid separate power cabling. Configure SSIDs, security settings and mesh/roaming features through the local web interface or remotely via Teltonika RMS for centralized deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting.

What to consider before purchase

• Planned coverage area and number of concurrent users to determine required number of access points
• Availability of PoE-capable switches or need for PoE injectors
• Requirement for a higher number of wired ports or local switching (may need additional switches)
• Compatibility with existing network management and security policies

Recommendations

For best performance, place TAP400 units to provide overlapping coverage for fast roaming, use a PoE switch with sufficient uplink capacity (preferably with 2.5 GbE aggregation where available), and manage devices centrally via Teltonika RMS to apply consistent SSID and security policies.
