Zyxel WAX640S-6E 4800 Mbit/s wit Power over Ethernet (PoE)

The Zyxel WAX640S-6E is a tri-band Wi‑Fi 6 access point that supports 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and the new 6 GHz WiFi 6E band to deliver higher capacity, lower latency and improved performance in high-density environments. With a maximum aggregated data rate of up to 4800 Mbit/s and support for modern security protocols including WPA3, this access point is designed for reliable wireless connectivity in offices, schools and public venues. The device also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for simplified installation and comes in a compact white enclosure weighing 1.22 kg.

Advantages

The WAX640S-6E brings WiFi 6 features such as OFDMA, MU‑MIMO and BSS Coloring into the interference‑free 6 GHz band to more than double available Wi‑Fi capacity and enable ultra‑fast, low‑latency connections. Tri‑band operation across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz improves spectrum utilization and reduces congestion in high‑density deployments. Integrated security support (WPA3) and PoE simplify deployment while two Ethernet LAN (RJ‑45) ports provide wired connectivity options.

Suitable for

• High‑density office environments
• Education campuses and lecture halls
• Public venues and event spaces
• Small to medium enterprise Wi‑Fi networks

How to use

Mount the Zyxel WAX640S-6E in a central location for optimal coverage and connect it to your network switch or router using an Ethernet cable to one of the RJ‑45 ports. Provide power via a compatible PoE switch or PoE injector. Configure SSIDs, security (WPA3 recommended) and radio settings through the Zyxel management interface or a supported network controller. Place the access point to avoid physical obstructions and maintain adequate separation from other APs to reduce interference.

Recommendations

For best performance in high‑density deployments, enable Wi‑Fi 6E 6 GHz band where clients support it, use WPA3 for improved security, and plan channel allocation to minimize overlap between neighbouring access points.
