3,5 mm stereo-bus ShiverPeaks 51354 — open bouwwijze, inbouw-audioaansluiting

The 3.5mm Stereo Socket ShiverPeaks 51354 — Open Design, Panel-Mount Audio Connector is a compact, panel-mounted jack designed for stereo line-level audio connections. This open-design socket accepts standard 3.5mm TRS plugs and is intended for installation in control panels, enclosures, instrument cases and custom audio equipment where a small, accessible audio input or headphone output is required. The connector provides a direct mechanical and electrical interface for left/right line signals and ground in a format compatible with common consumer and professional audio cables.

Advantages

The open panel-mount construction simplifies wiring and inspection during assembly and service. Its compact footprint conserves panel space while keeping the jack easily reachable for everyday use. The design is compatible with standard 3.5mm TRS plugs, ensuring broad interoperability with headphones, portable players, audio interfaces and auxiliary cables. Durable contacts provide reliable electrical connection for stereo signals under typical operating conditions.

Suitable for

• Integrating headphone outputs into instrument or equipment panels
• Providing auxiliary stereo inputs on control panels or enclosures
• Custom audio projects, DIY electronics and prototypes
• Repair or replacement of compact stereo jacks in consumer devices

Key specifications

• Connector type: 3.5 mm TRS (stereo) panel-mount socket
• Mounting style: open-design panel mount for ease of access and wiring
• Signal: stereo line-level (left, right, ground)
• Compatibility: accepts standard 3.5 mm stereo plugs
• Form factor: compact footprint suitable for limited panel space

How to use

Cut or prepare an appropriately sized opening in the panel or enclosure following the manufacturer's mechanical dimensions. Secure the socket in the panel mount position and solder or terminate the wiring to the socket's contact points according to the left, right and ground signal assignments. Route cable and strain relief as required to prevent mechanical stress on solder joints. After installation, insert a standard 3.5 mm TRS plug to connect stereo line-level signals for playback or monitoring.

Recommendations

Use quality, shielded audio cables to minimise interference and maintain signal integrity. Avoid excessive mechanical force on inserted plugs and provide strain relief for connected cables to extend the life of the connector. When integrating into enclosures, verify clearances for plug insertion and allow access for maintenance and potential replacement.
