The ACT Yellow 0.25m LSZH U/UTP CAT6 patch cable is a slimline datacenter cable designed for short interconnections. The U/UTP construction (unshielded twisted pair with overall jacket) and LSZH jacket provide reliable signal transmission and low-smoke, zero-halogen safety for indoor use.

How to use

Install the patch cable between compatible RJ45 ports on switches, patch panels or servers for short link connections. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks and avoid sharp bends near the connector. Because slimline cables may use thinner conductors, keep link lengths short to limit signal attenuation and test connectivity after installation.

Recommendations

ACT recommends using shorter permanent link lengths than with standard 24 AWG patch cords to accommodate higher attenuation of slimmer conductors. For PoE applications, limit bundled slimline cables to around 24 cables to help control temperature rise in the bundle; current guidance (ANSI TSB-184-A) aims to limit temperature increase to under 15 °C above ambient for the centre cable.
