Box 5590 Fiber WLAN-router Gigabit Ethernet dualband (2,4 GHz / 5 GHz) wit

The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 is a tabletop router designed for fiber and high-speed broadband connections. It provides dual-band Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless networking with a maximum combined WLAN throughput of up to 3600 Mbit/s, four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a dedicated RJ‑45 WAN option for flexible network setups. The device includes USB connectivity and comes in a compact white housing intended for home or small office placement.

Advantages

The router delivers Wi‑Fi 6 performance across both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, improving throughput and device capacity compared to previous standards. Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports ensure high-speed wired connections for desktops, NAS devices or media players, while the RJ‑45 WAN support allows easy integration with various fiber or copper service terminations. Integrated USB connectivity enables shared storage or peripheral access on the local network. The compact, neutral white design fits typical residential and office interiors.

Suitable for

• Homes and apartments requiring high-speed wireless for streaming and gaming
• Small offices needing reliable wired and wireless connections for multiple users
• Environments that use NAS, printers or media servers accessed over Gigabit LAN
• Setups where RJ‑45 WAN connection to fiber or ISP equipment is required

How to use

Place the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber on a stable, elevated surface near your fiber or ISP connection point. Connect the WAN RJ‑45 cable from your service termination to the WAN port and attach any wired devices to the Gigabit LAN ports. Power on the router and follow the on‑screen setup via the device web interface or the manufacturer's setup assistant to configure internet access, Wi‑Fi network names (SSIDs) and security settings. Connect client devices to the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz SSID as appropriate for range or performance needs. Use the USB port to attach external storage or compatible peripherals and configure sharing options through the router interface.

Recommendations

For optimal wireless performance, position the router centrally in the coverage area, avoid obstructions and keep the firmware up to date. Use the 5 GHz band for bandwidth‑intensive tasks such as 4K streaming or online gaming, and the 2.4 GHz band for broader coverage and legacy devices. Enable WPA2/WPA3 security options as supported and monitor connected devices through the router management interface to maintain network stability and security.
