BlueOptics InfiniBand/glasvezelkabel 3 m 2x LC violet

The BlueOptics InfiniBand/fibre optic cable 3 m 2x LC Violet is a 3-metre duplex multimode OM4 fibre patch cable designed for high-speed data transmission in network and data centre environments. Equipped with LC connectors on both ends, the cable supports full-duplex communication and is colour-coded violet for straightforward identification in structured cabling. With a 50 µm core diameter, this OM4 cable is suited to environments that require reliable short- to medium-range optical links and low insertion loss.

Advantages

The OM4 multimode construction with a 50 µm core provides improved bandwidth and lower attenuation compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates over typical LAN and data centre distances. LC connectors deliver a compact form factor suited to high-density patch panels and switches, while the duplex configuration supports simultaneous bi-directional transmission. The 3 m length offers a balance between flexibility and tidy cable management in racks and server cabinets.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between network switches and storage systems in data centres
• InfiniBand links and Fibre Channel short-reach connections
• Patch panel to active equipment connections in server rooms
• High-density network racks requiring LC-terminated multimode cables

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: 2x LC duplex on each end
• Length: 3 metres
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Colour: Violet

How to use

Route the cable through cable management channels or trays to avoid sharp bends and secure it with appropriate clips or ties. Align LC connectors with the equipment ports and insert firmly until the latch engages; use dust caps when ports are not in use to maintain connector cleanliness. For duplex links, ensure correct orientation of transmit and receive pairs according to equipment documentation. Test the link with appropriate optical test equipment after installation to verify loss and connectivity.

Recommendations

Avoid tight bends and compressive forces; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Keep connectors capped until ready to connect and clean end faces with proper fibre cleaning tools to prevent signal degradation. For best performance in data centre and InfiniBand applications, combine OM4 cabling with compatible transceivers and adhere to structured cabling practices.
