Disk-array LaCie 2big Dock 48 TB desktop zwart 48 TB behuizing desktop 118×217×93,3 mm 3,81 kg

LaCie 2big Dock 48 TB is a desktop disk array in a black chassis that delivers large local storage capacity in a compact docking-style enclosure. With a total installed capacity of 48 TB, the unit measures 118 × 217 × 93.3 mm and weighs 3.81 kg. The 2-bay design supports hardware RAID configurations to balance performance, capacity, and redundancy, while integrated docking ports and card slots simplify media workflows and device connectivity for creators and small studios.

Advantages

The desktop array combines high capacity and a docking form factor to centralize file libraries, backups and media projects on a single desktop device. Hardware RAID options enable users to choose between increased speed or data redundancy without relying solely on software. The enclosure’s compact dimensions and moderate weight make it suitable for stationary desktop use in home offices and small production environments. Compatibility with USB-C and Thunderbolt interfaces provides fast transfer rates and broad connectivity with modern laptops and workstations.

How to use

Place the unit on a stable, ventilated desktop surface and connect it to your computer using the appropriate USB-C or Thunderbolt cable. Configure RAID using the included LaCie RAID Manager or follow the manufacturer’s setup guide to select the desired RAID mode for performance or redundancy. Use the built-in card slots and front-access ports to transfer media directly from memory cards or external devices. For continuous operation, ensure the device receives stable power and monitor drive health through the management software.

Recommendations

Use RAID 1 if your priority is data redundancy and protection of original files; choose the striped RAID mode for maximum throughput when working on active video editing projects. Keep regular backups of critical data offsite or on a separate storage system, and allow adequate airflow around the chassis to maintain optimal drive temperature during extended workloads.
