SSD LaCie 2 TB externe solid-state-drive USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 STMF2000400

The LaCie STMF2000400 is a 2TB external solid-state drive with USB Type-C connectivity and a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface. Designed for mobile creative workflows, it offers read speeds up to 2000 MB/s and a data transfer capability up to 40 Gbit/s. Housed in a grey and orange aluminium-and-plastic enclosure, the drive combines compact, durable construction with high-capacity storage for on-location capture, editing and backup.

Advantages

The drive delivers NVMe performance over a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connection, enabling fast file transfers and smoother playback of high-bitrate video. The Rugged lineup adds water, dust and drop resistance for added durability. Compatibility with USB-C devices and forward compatibility with higher-bandwidth standards (up to USB 40 Gbps and Thunderbolt 4) helps protect your investment. The enclosure’s materials keep the unit lightweight (0.114 kg) while providing physical protection.

Suitable for

• On-location video capture and backup
• Edit and playback of 4K and high-bitrate footage
• Freelancers, vloggers and indie filmmakers needing portable storage
• Expanding storage for USB-C laptops and tablets, including iPad

How to use

For best performance, connect to a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port or a compatible Thunderbolt/USB 4 port; the drive will function with lower‑speed USB ports but transfer rates will be reduced. Use the drive for direct recording where supported by your camera, or for offloading, editing and backing up files from your computer or tablet. Follow your operating system’s prompts to format the drive if required.

Recommendations

Use the drive with devices that support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 or Thunderbolt for optimal speed; enable encryption or backups as needed and consider LaCie Rescue Services for added data recovery protection in case of accidental damage.
