Extralink Cat.8.1 S/FTP 20m 40G LAN-patchkabel, blauw, koperen netwerkkabel

Extralink Cat.8.1 S/FTP 20m LAN patch cord in blue is a shielded copper network cable engineered for high-speed Ethernet links. With Category 8.1 construction and S/FTP shielding, this 20 metre patch cord is intended for short to medium distance connections where reduced electromagnetic interference and consistent 40G-capable performance are required. The cable’s blue outer jacket and robust connectors provide a professional appearance suitable for server rooms, data centers and backbone links.

Advantages

The S/FTP design combines an overall foil shield with individually shielded twisted pairs, minimising crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference. Copper conductors ensure reliable signal transmission and low latency for demanding network traffic. The 20 m length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack and equipment-to-equipment connections while preserving Category 8.1 performance up to 40G where supported by connected equipment.

Suitable for

• Server room and data centre rack connections
• High-speed backbone and aggregation links
• 40G-capable Ethernet links over short to medium distances
• Environments requiring reduced EMI and improved signal integrity

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat.8.1 (S/FTP shielding)
• Length: 20 metres
• Conductor material: copper
• Maximum supported data rate: up to 40 Gbps (dependent on connected equipment)
• Jacket colour: blue
• Intended use: LAN patch cord for short to medium distance links

How to use

Connect each RJ45 end of the patch cord to the corresponding Ethernet ports on networking equipment, ensuring ports and transceivers are rated for the desired data rate. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic interference. For rack installations, use cable management hardware to secure the cord and maintain bend radius recommendations. Verify link speed and duplex settings on connected devices after installation.

Recommendations

For best performance, use this Cat.8.1 S/FTP patch cord for intra-rack or inter-rack connections within server rooms and data centres where 40G-capable switches or transceivers are present. Avoid running alongside high-voltage power lines and maintain proper bend radius to preserve shielding and signal quality.
