Glasvezelkabel Helos 5m OM4 SC/SC

The Helos 5m OM4 SC/SC fibre optic cable provides a 5 metre multimode connection with a 50 µm core diameter designed for full duplex links. Engineered for high-speed data transmission, this OM4 cable supports applications that require low attenuation and consistent signal quality across short to medium patching distances. The connector configuration uses SC connectors on both ends for easy insertion and reliable mechanical mating in compatible switches, patch panels and transceivers.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable offers reduced modal dispersion and improved bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates over the specified 5 m length. The SC/SC termination ensures straightforward, secure connections with standard SC ports, and the OM4 grade delivers better performance for modern networking equipment. The cable construction minimises insertion loss and preserves signal integrity in patching and cross-connect scenarios.

Suitable for

• Short-distance connections in data centres and server racks
• Patch panel to switch or transceiver links
• High-speed LAN and SAN interconnects
• Multimode fibre optic networks requiring OM4 performance

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: SC to SC
• Transmission: full duplex
• Typical application: high-speed data transmission and patching

How to use

Verify compatibility of SC ports on both devices before connecting. Handle the cable by the connector boots and avoid bending the fibre beyond recommended minimum bend radius to prevent increased attenuation. Clean connectors with appropriate fibre cleaning tools prior to insertion to maintain low insertion loss. Insert each SC connector until it clicks into the adapter or port and secure any panel or rack cable management to prevent strain on the connection.

Recommendations

Store the cable coiled loosely and protected from sharp bends; use dust caps when connectors are not in use. For critical links, perform optical power and attenuation testing after installation to confirm link performance meets system requirements.
