Glasvezelkabel Televes OSK5S 5 m FC grijs

The Televes OSK5S 5 m FC Grey fibre optic cable is a single-mode interconnect cable with FC connectors on both ends. It is designed to provide consistent optical signal transmission over short distances where a fixed, threaded connector interface is required. The grey jacket protects the fibres and helps maintain consistent performance in controlled indoor environments such as equipment racks and telecommunications cabinets.

Advantages

The cable offers low insertion loss and reliable mechanical connection thanks to FC connector precision and ferrule alignment. Its 5 m length provides flexibility for typical rack-to-rack or shelf-to-equipment connections without excessive slack. The outer sheath resists abrasion and everyday handling while keeping the optic cores protected from minor bends and impacts.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting network equipment in data centers and server rooms
• Linking optical transmitters and receivers in telecommunications racks
• Connecting measurement and test instruments requiring FC terminations
• Indoor cabling where a robust, threaded connector is preferred

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 metres
• Connector type: FC to FC, threaded ferrule connection
• Jacket colour: Grey
• Fibre type: single-mode (optical fibre intended for long-haul, low-loss transmission)
• Typical insertion loss: low (designed for minimal signal attenuation in short runs)
• Suitable environment: indoor, controlled temperature and humidity

How to use

Align the FC connectors with the receptacles on the devices and engage the threaded coupling nut until secure; avoid excessive torque. Route the cable to prevent sharp bends—maintain bend radii recommended for single-mode fibre—and use appropriate cable management to keep the run supported and strain-relieved. When disconnecting, unscrew the coupling nut fully before gently withdrawing the connector to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Recommendations

Inspect connector endfaces before connection and, if necessary, clean using approved fibre-optic cleaning tools to maintain low loss. Store the cable coiled without tight loops and protect connector end caps when not in use. For outdoor or harsh-environment installations, select a cable with appropriate environmental ratings rather than this indoor-rated grey-jacketed cable.
