The Newland HR23 Dorada is a corded handheld barcode reader for 1D and 2D scanning that combines advanced decoding technology with a lightweight ergonomic design. Equipped with a CMOS sensor and USB connectivity, the HR23 Dorada handles high-density, damaged, or distorted barcodes while remaining suitable for retail and inventory management tasks. It weighs 0.137 kg and has an IP52 rating, providing resistance to dust and light water exposure.

Advantages

The HR23 Dorada delivers 2D scanning performance comparable to higher-priced models thanks to Newland’s improved decoding algorithms. Its balanced, comfortable form factor reduces operator fatigue during intensive handheld use, while a solid build and a 1.5 m drop specification increase reliability in everyday environments. The scanner is configurable via Newland Easyset software for settings changes, firmware updates, device cloning, and scanned-data analysis. Multiple stand options enable hands-free operation when required. The product includes a five-year guarantee for long-term confidence.

For hands-free operation, mount the scanner on a compatible Smart Stand or gooseneck stand and present items to the scan window.

Recommendations

For best results with damaged or high-density barcodes, use the scanner at a stable angle and adjust the stand distance if scanning hands-free. Periodically update firmware with Easyset and avoid exposing the device to heavy water spray despite its IP52 rating.
