Handheld-barcodescanner Datalogic Gryphon GBT4500

The Datalogic Gryphon GBT4500 is a handheld 1D/2D bar code reader combining an ergonomic design with an advanced megapixel sensor and warm-white-illumination 2D technology for reliable scanning performance. The omnidirectional imager delivers fast decoding of common linear and matrix codes. Wireless models use Bluetooth (GBT) or Datalogic STAR narrow band radio (GM), and healthcare variants include disinfectant-ready, anti-microbial enclosures. The GBT4500 also offers wireless charging for the battery to reduce maintenance and improve uptime.

Advantages

The Gryphon GBT4500 provides high-quality scanning of both 1D and 2D codes, including high-density codes with optional HD optics. Motionix™ motion-sensing switches the unit between hand-held and presentation modes automatically. Bluetooth wireless connectivity enables untethered operation and the integrated wireless charging system eliminates contact maintenance while supporting continuous use. The device is lightweight and compact, with an IP52 rating and a 3250 mAh Lithium Polymer battery for extended operation.

How to use

Hold the Gryphon GBT4500 in hand and point the imager toward the barcode; the omnidirectional sensor reads codes without exact alignment. When picked up, Motionix™ switches the scanner to hand-held mode; place it in the adjustable cradle to return to presentation/stand mode while charging. For wireless use, pair the scanner with your host device via Bluetooth following the pairing procedure in the user manual. Use the dedicated healthcare model where disinfectant cleaning and anti-microbial protection are required.

Recommendations

For consistent performance, keep the imager glass clean and use the appropriate Gryphon model for your needs (HD for small/condensed codes, healthcare for clinical environments). Place the scanner in the cradle when not in use to ensure the battery remains charged and to benefit from the wireless charging system.
