HDD/SSD-behuizing DeLOCK 64187 zwart 2,5/3,5 inch 5 Gbit/s

The DeLOCK 64187 Black 2.5/3.5" 5 Gbit/s HDD/SSD enclosure is designed to convert Serial ATA 2.5" and 3.5" drives into an external USB storage solution. The enclosure accepts up to two storage drives and connects to a host system via a USB Type-B port supporting USB 3.2 Gen 1 (3.1 Gen 1) transfer speeds up to 5 Gbit/s. Constructed from durable plastic with a black finish, it provides a compact and practical housing for desktop and portable drives without requiring internal installation.

Advantages

The enclosure supports both 2.5" and 3.5" Serial ATA drives, allowing flexible use of laptop and desktop hard drives or SSDs. With USB 3.2 Gen 1 compatibility and a 5 Gbit/s data rate, it delivers faster file transfers compared with legacy USB 2.0 interfaces. The USB Type-B connector provides a standard, stable connection to many docking stations and host cables. The plastic housing is lightweight and protects drives from dust and incidental impacts while remaining easy to handle.

Suitable for

• Backing up or archiving data from desktop and laptop drives
• Quickly accessing data from removed HDDs or SSDs
• Expanding external storage capacity for PCs and workstations
• Cloning or imaging drives for system migration and recovery

How to use

Open the enclosure according to the included mechanical guides, insert one or two Serial ATA drives into the appropriate bays, and secure them following the enclosure's retention method. Connect the enclosure to a computer using a compatible USB Type-B to USB-A or USB-C cable that supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. The host operating system will detect the connected drives; initialize, partition, or mount them as required by the system's disk management tools. For safe removal, use the operating system's eject or safe-removal procedure before disconnecting the cable.

Recommendations

Use high-quality USB 3.2 Gen 1 cables to maintain full transfer speeds and ensure stable connections. Place the enclosure on a stable, level surface and provide adequate ventilation during prolonged operation. For mechanical 3.5" hard drives, ensure the enclosure is powered appropriately if an external power supply is required by the enclosure design. Regularly back up important data and use the host OS tools to safely eject drives before removal.
