HDMI-gender changer ShiverPeaks BS77408

The ShiverPeaks BS77408 HDMI Gender Changer is a compact adapter designed to join two HDMI cables quickly and reliably. The adapter features HDMI connectors on both ends and a black housing that fits standard AV setups. Gold-plated contacts ensure improved conductivity and lower signal loss, making it suitable for extending HDMI connections without introducing noticeable degradation in audio or video quality.

Advantages

This HDMI gender changer offers a simple mechanical solution to reverse or extend HDMI cable runs without the need for additional expensive cables or converters. Gold-plated contacts provide corrosion resistance and stable signal transmission. The compact size makes it easy to install in tight spaces behind TVs, monitors, or AV racks while maintaining the original HDMI signal path.

Suitable for

• Extending existing HDMI cable runs between a source (player, PC, set-top box) and display (TV, monitor, projector)
• Changing connector orientation where two HDMI male ends need to be joined
• Temporary or permanent AV installations where space is limited

Key specifications

• Connector type: HDMI to HDMI
• Contact plating: Gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity
• Colour: Black housing
• Form factor: Inline gender changer / coupler

How to use

Insert each HDMI male connector into the adapter until it seats firmly. Ensure both connected cables are fully inserted and secure to avoid intermittent contact. Position the adapter so that it does not place strain on the cable ends; use cable clips or ties if needed to relieve tension. The adapter requires no power or configuration and will pass through standard HDMI signals once correctly connected.

Recommendations

For best performance, use quality HDMI cables and avoid chaining multiple adapters or excessive cable lengths. Check that connected devices support the desired video and audio formats; the adapter itself does not alter signal specifications. Keep the adapter in a dry, dust-free environment and avoid excessive bending at the connector junctions to preserve contact integrity.
