Hypertec 858605-HY Netwerkkabel grijs 5 m Cat7 S/FTP (S-STP)

Shielded EXC Cat 7 S/FTP Low Smoke network cable, 5 m length, designed for high-speed Ethernet and reliable data transmission in residential, office and server environments. The cable uses S/FTP topology with individually shielded twisted pairs and an overall braided shield to minimise crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, while the Low Smoke jacket reduces harmful fumes in case of fire. Compatible with Gigabit Ethernet and higher-speed links for connecting routers, switches, network cards and other LAN devices.

Advantages

The S/FTP construction provides enhanced protection against alien crosstalk and EMI compared with unshielded or less-shielded cables, supporting stable high-throughput connections. The Low Smoke jacket material limits toxic and dense smoke emission, improving safety in enclosed spaces. A 5 m length grants flexibility for typical desk-to-switch and equipment-to-rack connections without excess slack. The cable is backward compatible with Cat 6A and Cat 6 infrastructure while offering improved shielding for demanding installations.

How to use

Connect one RJ45-terminated end to the network source such as a switch, router or wall outlet and the other end to the destination device (PC, NAS, server, or other network equipment). Ensure connectors are fully seated and clipped into place. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends, excessive tension and proximity to high-voltage power lines to maintain signal integrity. For longer structured cabling runs, use appropriate patch panels or cable management to reduce stress on connectors and preserve shielding continuity.

Recommendations

For best performance, use the cable within its intended indoor environment and avoid outdoor exposure or burial. Keep the cable run length within recommended limits for the network standard in use, and maintain separation from strong electrical interference sources. When terminating or re-terminating, preserve foil and braid shielding continuity and use compatible shielded connectors to retain the benefits of S/FTP topology.
