Kabel gender changer RCA ShiverPeaks BS57040-MGR

The ShiverPeaks BS57040-MGR Cable Gender Changer RCA is an inline adapter that converts an RCA connector to the same RCA polarity, allowing two RCA cables to be joined quickly and without tools. Designed for audio and video signal paths, this compact adapter uses gold-coloured, gold-plated contact surfaces to reduce oxidation and ensure consistent signal transfer in home and professional AV setups. Its small form factor makes it suitable for tight spaces and simple cable management.

Advantages

This RCA gender changer offers reliable mechanical coupling between two RCA leads while maintaining continuity of the analogue signal. The gold-plated contacts improve conductivity and corrosion resistance, supporting stable audio and video transmission over the connected cables. Its compact, lightweight construction simplifies installation in cramped equipment racks and behind AV furniture.

Suitable for

• Extending or joining RCA audio cables
• Connecting RCA video leads (composite video)
• Temporary or permanent cable repairs in home theatre systems
• Linking equipment with short RCA patch cables in AV racks

Key specifications

• Connector type: RCA to RCA gender changer
• Contact finish: gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity
• Colour: gold-coloured housing and contacts
• Application: analogue audio and composite video signal joining
• Form factor: compact inline adapter suitable for tight spaces

How to use

To use the gender changer, align the RCA plug of the first cable with the adapter’s female receptacle and push until it seats firmly. Repeat with the second RCA cable on the opposite side to complete the connection. Ensure both plugs are fully inserted to minimise contact resistance and prevent intermittent signal issues. For best results, connect cables while equipment is powered down and avoid excessive bending or tension at the connection points.

Recommendations

Use this adapter indoors in dry environments and avoid exposure to moisture or corrosive chemicals. For longer runs or critical installations, pair the adapter with good quality, shielded RCA cables to maintain signal integrity. If frequent plugging and unplugging is expected, periodically inspect the gold-plated contacts for wear and replace the adapter when mechanical fit becomes loose.
