Kabel gender changer RCA ShiverPeaks BS57040-SG

The ShiverPeaks BS57040-SG Cable Gender Changer RCA is a compact adapter that joins two RCA cables with matching connectors. Designed for audio and video signal passthrough, this small black RCA adapter provides a direct connection between RCA-terminated cables without the need to replace existing leads. Its simple construction focuses on mechanical reliability and convenient handling in both domestic and professional AV setups.

Advantages

This RCA gender changer offers a compact footprint and straightforward use, enabling fast extension or reconfiguration of existing RCA cable runs. The black finish reduces visual distraction in installations while the fixed RCA-to-RCA coupling provides stable mechanical contact for analog audio and composite video signals. The adapter's simple design means there are no active components that require power or configuration.

Suitable for

• Extending RCA audio cables between amplifiers, receivers and speakers
• Connecting composite video cables for legacy video equipment
• Temporary or permanent wiring adjustments in home theatre systems
• Patch connections in small AV racks or media cabinets

Key specifications

• Connector type: RCA (female to female)
• Colour: Black
• Application: Analog audio and composite video signal coupling
• Form factor: Compact, inline adapter
• Construction: Durable metal/plastic housing for mechanical stability

How to use

Insert each RCA cable plug into the corresponding connector on the gender changer until a secure, tactile fit is achieved. Ensure connectors are fully seated to maintain signal continuity and minimise noise. Place the adapter where it will not be subjected to undue mechanical stress or repeated movement to preserve connector integrity and signal quality.

Recommendations

For best results, use good-quality RCA cables with intact shielding and solid plugs; avoid excessive bending at the connection points and keep the adapter away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference. Inspect connections periodically for wear if the adapter is used in a permanent installation.
