Kabel gender changer USB B ShiverPeaks BS77042

The ShiverPeaks BS77042 Cable Gender Changer USB B is a compact adapter that joins two USB B cables to create a continuous USB 2.0 connection. Designed for straightforward cable extension or device adaptation, this grey gender changer has nickel-plated contacts to resist wear and maintain signal integrity. It is intended for use with USB B terminated cables and supports standard USB 2.0 data rates.

Advantages

This USB B gender changer provides a simple mechanical solution to connect two USB B cables without additional tooling. Nickel-plated contacts enhance durability and reduce the risk of corrosion, while the compact housing keeps the joint low-profile and easy to position in confined spaces. The grey finish is neutral and suitable for most professional or home environments. As a passive adapter, it introduces minimal interference when used with properly shielded USB 2.0 cables.

Key specifications

• Connector types: USB B to USB B
• USB version: 2.0
• Contact plating: nickel-plated contacts for improved wear resistance
• Colour: grey housing

How to use

Insert the male USB B plug of each cable into the corresponding USB B ports of the gender changer until they are fully seated. Ensure cables are straight and free of tension to prevent strain on the connectors. Verify the joined cable assembly with your device to confirm proper data communication; the adapter is passive and relies on the quality of connected cables for full USB 2.0 performance.

Recommendations

Use shielded, high-quality USB 2.0 cables to maintain signal integrity and avoid exceeding the recommended cable length for USB 2.0 to prevent data errors. Avoid placing the gender changer under mechanical stress or in environments with excessive moisture. For USB 3.x speeds or active extension needs, consider using adapters or cables specifically rated for those standards.
