Krimpkous DeLOCK 18978

The DeLOCK 18978 heat shrink tube is a 1 meter long polyolefin sleeve with a black finish and a maximum diameter of 2 cm. It provides insulation and mechanical protection for cables, wires and electrical connections by shrinking tightly around them when heat is applied.

Advantages

The polyolefin material offers good electrical insulation and resistance to environmental influences. The 1 m length and 2 cm maximum diameter make the sleeve suitable for a range of wire diameters and connections. The black colour provides a discreet appearance and additional UV resistance compared with untreated materials.

Suitable for

• Insulating and protecting wire joints and soldered connections
• Repairing damaged cable sheaths
• Bundling and protecting small cable harnesses
• Use in automotive, household and general electrical applications

How to use

Measure and cut the heat shrink tube to the required length, slide it over the cable or connection, then apply heat evenly with a heat gun or appropriate heat source until the sleeve shrinks and conforms tightly to the substrate. Allow the sleeve to cool before handling. Ensure the heat source is used safely and avoid overheating adjacent components.

Recommendations

For reliable results, select a heat gun with adjustable temperature, keep the nozzle moving to prevent local overheating, and confirm compatibility with the cable insulation. Do not use an open flame directly on the tube; follow local safety guidelines for electrical work.
