Netwerkkabel Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 5 m zwart

The Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 5 m Black networking cable is engineered for reliable high-speed data transmission over local area networks. This 5 metre cable uses Cat6a specifications with S/FTP shielding to minimise electromagnetic interference and maintain signal integrity across longer runs. Both ends are fitted with standard RJ-45 connectors for direct connection to switches, routers, network cards and patch panels, and the black jacket provides a discreet, professional appearance suitable for home and office installations.

Advantages

SFTP shielding around the individual pairs plus an overall foil and braid reduces near-end crosstalk and external interference, supporting stable Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet links where supported by connected equipment. The Cat6a construction is designed to handle higher frequencies than Cat6 cables, improving performance for bandwidth-intensive applications. The 5 m length offers flexibility for typical desktop, rack or wall-mounted setups without excess slack, and the standard RJ-45 terminations ensure broad compatibility with existing network hardware.

Suitable for

• Wired Ethernet connections between PCs, switches and routers in home and small office networks
• Patch panel to switch connections in network cabinets and racks
• Connecting network-enabled devices such as NAS units, IP cameras and media players
• Short to medium-length runs where reduced electromagnetic interference is required

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6a
• Shielding: S/FTP (individual pair foil + overall braid/foil)
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Length: 5 m
• Colour: Black

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the network port of your device and the other plug to a router, switch or wall outlet terminated for Ethernet. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until a click confirms engagement. For optimal performance, avoid running the cable alongside high-voltage power lines and prevent sharp bends or kinks; maintain a gentle bend radius. When installing in racks or behind furniture, use cable ties or organisers to secure the cable and prevent strain on the connector ends.

Recommendations

Use this Cat6a SFTP cable for installations that require reduced interference and reliable high-speed connectivity. For permanent or concealed installations, verify in-wall or conduit ratings and local building codes; for maximum 10 Gigabit performance, ensure connected devices and intermediate patch panels support the required link speed.
