Novoflex ZEBRAXL grijs/wit controlekarten XL

The Novoflex Control Cards Grey/White XL provide a reliable reference for color calibration and exposure control. These durable grey and white cards are intended to offer consistent neutral tones for accurate white balance and contrast checks across still photography and video workflows. The XL size gives a larger reference area for framing and metering in both studio and location shoots while remaining lightweight and easy to carry.

Advantages

The grey and white surfaces are manufactured to deliver stable neutral tones that aid in precise white balance and exposure decisions. The larger XL format reduces the need to crop or reposition the card when working with wide-angle lenses or when subjects are at varying distances. The card is constructed for repeated field use and retains its surface properties under normal handling conditions. Its simple two-tone design supports quick visual checks as well as readings from camera meters and color-grading software.

Suitable for

• On-location and studio photography for white balance and exposure calibration
• Video production and filmmaking to establish neutral reference points
• Product and still-life shoots requiring consistent color reproduction
• Fieldwork where a portable, lightweight color reference is needed

Key specifications

• Surface: dual-tone grey and white neutral reference
• Format: XL size for an extended reference area
• Material: durable, lightweight construction suitable for field use
• Function: supports white balance, exposure checking, and contrast assessment
• Compatibility: usable with cameras, light meters, and color-grading workflows

How to use

Place the Control Card within the same light falling on the subject, ensuring the card faces the camera and occupies a portion of the frame large enough for an accurate meter or sampling in post-processing. For white balance, capture a reference frame with the white or grey area filling the selected sampling region, then set a custom white balance in-camera or apply the sampled values during RAW conversion or color grading. For exposure and contrast checks, use the grey area as a mid-tone reference and the white area to assess highlight response; adjust camera settings or lighting accordingly.

Recommendations

Keep the card clean and free of fingerprints or strong stains to maintain neutral readings. When working in mixed or rapidly changing lighting, capture reference frames at regular intervals. Store the card flat or in a protective sleeve to prevent bends that could affect uniformity of the surface.
