Philips 5000 Serie DST5010/10 strijkijzer stoomstrijkijzer SteamGlide Plus zoolplaat 2400 W grijs, wit

The Steam iron Philips 5000 series DST5010/10 is a mains-powered household iron designed for efficient everyday garment care. With 2400 W of power it reaches operating temperature quickly and delivers continuous steam for smoothing creases. The SteamGlide Plus soleplate provides even heat distribution and low friction to glide across a range of fabrics, while a 2 m cord offers flexibility when ironing larger items. Compact external dimensions and a translucent water tank make refilling and storage straightforward.

Advantages

The high 2400 W power level reduces heat-up time and helps maintain stable temperature during use. The SteamGlide Plus soleplate minimises sticking and improves glide over cotton, linen and synthetic blends. A vertical steam function allows refreshing hanging garments and removing creases from curtains and suits. The 0.32 L water tank capacity and user-friendly fill opening support multiple garments per refill, and the moderate weight of 1.28 kg balances stability with maneuverability.

Suitable for

• Everyday ironing of shirts, blouses and trousers

How to use

Fill the translucent water tank up to the indicated level using tap water, set the iron on its heel rest while unplugged, then plug in and select the appropriate temperature setting for the fabric to be ironed. For stubborn creases use the steam function while moving the iron slowly across the fabric; use the vertical steam mode to refresh hanging garments by holding the iron a short distance from the fabric and applying short bursts of steam. After use, unplug the appliance, allow it to cool fully, empty any remaining water and store the iron in an upright position.

Recommendations

Use distilled or demineralised water in areas with hard tap water to reduce scale build-up. Always check garment care labels and start with the lowest suitable temperature, increasing only if creases persist. Clean the soleplate periodically with a damp cloth when cold and descale the steam circuit according to the manufacturer's guidelines to maintain steam performance.
