Rugzak DEUTER Aircontact Core 60+10, binnenframe, 60 L (+10 L), 2,31 kg, blauw

The Deuter Aircontact Core 60+10 is a 60-litre internal-frame hiking backpack with a 10-litre expandable lid extension. Designed for multi-day treks, it combines a ventilated Aircontact back system with Air Spacer mesh and a wide ventilation channel to improve carry comfort and load distribution. The pack features an ergonomic lumbar pad, movable hip fins and comfortable shoulder straps. A full-length J-shaped front zipper provides quick access to items in the main compartment, while detachable 3‑litre zippered hip-fin pockets and a zip-out 1.5‑litre bottle holster add convenient, accessible storage.

Advantages

The Aircontact back system and Y-frame transfer weight efficiently to the hips, while the VariSlide and VariFlex systems enable torso-length adjustment and flexible movement for improved fit. Pull-forward hip fins and load adjustment straps allow precise load control. The pack includes practical outdoor features such as a separate bottom compartment, rain cover, pole holder, lid compartment, glasses stow on the shoulder strap and reinforced material loops on the front and lid. The construction uses recycled fabric and PFAS-free materials.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This pack is relatively large and intended for multi-day use; it may be more than required for short day hikes or minimalist ultralight trekking. At around 2.31 kg, it is heavier than lightweight daypacks, so if absolute minimal weight is your priority, consider a lighter, smaller model.

How to use

Load heavy items close to the back and centred to maintain stability. Use the separate bottom compartment for sleeping bag or bulky items and the J-shaped front zipper for quick retrieval of gear stored low in the main compartment. Adjust the VariSlide torso length for a comfortable shoulder position, then pull the hip fins forward and fasten the hip belt so most weight rests on the pelvis. Use load adjustment straps and the sternum belt to fine-tune balance and comfort. Attach poles to the pole holder and stow smaller items in the detachable hip pockets for easy access on the move.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

For balanced load carriage, pack heavy items centrally and as close to your back as possible, set the VariSlide to your torso length before tightening the hip belt, and use the detachable hip pockets for snacks, maps or a phone to avoid frequent shoulder-bag access.
