DEUTER Aircontact Ultra 50+5 is a 50+5 L trekking backpack engineered for multi-day hikes and lightweight backpacking. The pack balances reduced weight with durable construction, offering a 50-litre main capacity plus a 5-litre extendible lid for flexible storage. The design includes an adjustable harness and hip belt to stabilise loads, multiple access points and pockets for organised packing, and rugged materials for extended outdoor use.

Advantages

The backpack provides a combination of lightweight construction and robust materials that supports long-distance trekking without excessive bulk. An adjustable carrying system ensures load transfer to the hips and reduces shoulder strain, while several access options and dedicated pockets simplify organisation of clothing, gear and essentials. How to use

Pack heavy items close to your back and centred over the hip belt to maintain balance and reduce fatigue. Use the extendible lid for items you need quick access to and arrange clothing and sleeping gear in the main compartment. Adjust the harness height and tighten the hip belt so that most of the load rests on the hips; fine-tune shoulder straps and load lifters for an even fit. Use external pockets and compression straps to secure small items and stabilise the load during movement.

Recommendations

For best performance, set up the harness and hip belt on level ground with the pack loaded to the expected trip weight. Regularly check seams, buckles and attachment points before and during long trips. When packing wet or muddy gear, use waterproof stuff sacks to protect the pack interior and maintain fabric condition.
