Schroef cimco 190118 – verzinkte metaalschroef voor vezelplaten, 30 mm lengte, 5 mm schroefdraaddiameter, 1 stuk

The cimco 190118 galvanized metal screw is designed for fastening fibreboard and similar wood-based panels. This single-piece screw has a 30 mm overall length and a 5 mm thread diameter, providing secure mechanical connection for assembly and repair tasks. The zinc galvanization helps protect the metal surface from corrosion, making the fastener suitable for indoor applications where occasional moisture exposure or humidity is expected.

Advantages

The galvanized coating increases resistance to rust compared to plain steel screws, extending service life in environments with moderate humidity. The 5 mm thread diameter combined with the 30 mm length ensures sufficient holding power in medium-thickness fibreboard while reducing the risk of splitting or surface damage when used correctly. Supplied as a single unit, the screw is convenient for small repairs, sample builds, or when specific screw sizes are required without buying bulk packs.

How to use

Pre-drill a pilot hole appropriate for a 5 mm screw in the fibreboard if necessary to prevent splitting, especially near edges. Drive the screw using a compatible screwdriver or a power driver with the correct bit until the head is flush with or slightly below the surface, taking care not to over-torque which can strip the material or damage the coating. For load-bearing connections, use multiple screws spaced according to standard joinery practice and verify the substrate thickness before assembly.

Recommendations

Store the screw in a dry place and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure to maintain the protective galvanization. For exterior or highly humid environments, consider a fastener with enhanced corrosion resistance. When working with very thin or brittle panels, use a smaller diameter or specialist screw and appropriate pilot drilling to reduce the risk of splitting.
