Sharkoon patch-netwerkkabel SFTP RJ-45 Cat.7a 7,5m zwart

The Sharkoon patch network cable SFTP RJ-45 Cat.7a 7.5m black is a shielded Ethernet cable designed for high-speed wired connections in home and professional networks. Complying with Category 7a specifications and fitted with RJ-45 connectors, the cable provides enhanced protection against electromagnetic interference and supports reliable data transfer over a 7.5 metre run. Its black jacket and robust construction suit visible or concealed installations where stable throughput and signal integrity are required.

Advantages

The cable uses SFTP (shielded foil twisted pair) construction to minimise crosstalk and external interference, improving signal stability for demanding applications. Cat.7a compliance ensures support for high-frequency transmission and better performance margins compared to earlier categories. RJ-45 connectors provide compatibility with a wide range of switches, routers, network cards and other Ethernet devices. The 7.5 m length offers flexibility for connecting equipment across rooms without additional couplers or extenders.

Suitable for

• Gaming PCs and consoles requiring low-latency wired connections
• Streaming setups where consistent bandwidth is needed for video and audio
• Small office and home office (SOHO) networks linking routers, switches and NAS devices
• Workstation connections in professional environments with moderate cable runs
• Environments with potential electromagnetic interference where shielding improves reliability

Key specifications

• Category: Cat.7a (high-frequency shielded Ethernet)
• Shielding type: SFTP (overall foil + individual pair shielding)
• Connector: RJ-45 on both ends
• Length: 7.5 metres
• Color: Black
• Intended band: Suitable for high-speed network links and reduced interference conditions

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 end to your network device (router, switch, modem or network interface) and the other end to the target device such as a PC, console or NAS. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click to establish a secure physical connection. For best performance, avoid sharp bends and kinks in the cable, and route it clear of strong electrical sources where possible. After connection, verify link status on the devices and adjust network settings if required for the desired speed and duplex mode.

Recommendations

Use the Sharkoon Cat.7a SFTP cable for runs up to 7.5 m where improved shielding and higher frequency performance are beneficial. For installations near heavy electrical equipment or many parallel power lines, maintain separation or use cable management to reduce potential interference. If permanent in-wall installation is planned, check local building and fire codes regarding cable type and jacket ratings.
