SINGER naaimachinenaald 80/12 (model 250054303) voor breistoffen, kogelpunt

SINGER Ball Point Needle 80/12 (model 250054303) is designed for sewing knit and stretch fabrics on domestic and compatible industrial machines. The rounded ball point tip parts yarn loops rather than cutting through them, reducing skipped stitches and minimizing fabric damage. This needle size provides reliable stitch formation on lightweight to medium-weight jerseys, interlocks and similar stretch materials, enabling even seams and improved fabric feed when paired with appropriate thread and machine settings.

Advantages

The ball point tip prevents damage to knit fibers and helps maintain fabric appearance during sewing. Size 80/12 is suited for lightweight to medium knit constructions, offering balanced strength and flexibility. Compatibility with standard household machines and many industrial machines that accept this needle system ensures straightforward replacement and consistent performance. The needle’s geometry supports stable stitch formation and reduces the likelihood of skipped stitches when used with suitable thread and correct tension.

How to use

Install the SINGER ball point needle 80/12 according to your sewing machine manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring the flat shank side and notch align correctly. Use an appropriate thread for knit fabrics — typically polyester or blended stretch thread — and set stitch length and tension suited to the fabric weight. Test on a fabric scrap before sewing the final piece to confirm stitch quality and adjust tension, presser foot pressure and stitch length as needed.

Recommendations

For best results with knit and stretch fabrics, use a stretch-compatible thread and a walking foot or stretch presser foot when available; reduce presser foot pressure on lightweight knits and check stitch formation on a sample to avoid skipped stitches or puckering.
