Oculair Skywatcher SWA-58 25mm 1,25 inch - Skywatcher SW-5125

Skywatcher SWA-58 25mm 1.25 inch eyepiece (model SW-5125) is a 25 mm focal length ocular designed for visual astronomy with telescopes that accept 1.25" eyepieces. It provides a mid-range magnification option suitable for a variety of observing targets and is intended to be used as an interchangeable accessory in standard 1.25" focusers. The design balances field of view and eye relief to offer comfortable observing sessions with refractors, reflectors and catadioptric instruments.

Advantages

The eyepiece delivers stable optical performance for general observing, offering clear images across the field at moderate magnifications. Its standard 1.25" barrel ensures compatibility with the majority of amateur telescope focusers, making it easy to swap with other eyepieces. The 25 mm focal length gives a practical compromise between wide-field views and higher-power detail, useful when moving between low- and high-magnification eyepieces during a session.

Suitable for

• General deep-sky observation of star clusters and nebulae
• Planetary viewing at moderate magnification
• Wide-field scanning of the Milky Way and star fields
• Educational and amateur astronomy use with 1.25" focusers

Key specifications

• Focal length: 25 mm
• Barrel diameter: 1.25 inches
• Optical design family: SWA (wide-angle eyepiece series)
• Intended use: visual observation
• Compatibility: standard 1.25" telescope focusers

How to use

Insert the eyepiece into the telescope focuser or diagonal and secure with the focuser's retaining screw. Focus the telescope on the target using the focuser control, then adjust your eye position to achieve full field illumination and comfortable eye relief. For best results, start with low to moderate telescope magnification and switch eyepieces as needed to compare fields of view and detail. Use a diagonal for refractors or when comfortable viewing angles are required.

Recommendations

Match the eyepiece focal length with your telescope's focal length to calculate magnification and choose appropriate targets: 25 mm provides moderate magnification ideal for extended objects and initial planetary viewing. Keep eyepiece and focuser clean and protected from dust; store in a padded case when not in use.
